This World Isn't Perfect or Fair

Hi All, So, if you've taken nothing else from this blog, I'm sure you've realized that I love God, I love my job, and tend to be very positive, but today is one those days were it's hard to be positive. This world is just NOT fair and even though where I work is nearly perfect for me, it has a few downsides, and one of them has been re-brought to my attention the past couple week.s Today I'm finding it hard to not let my anger consume me. Although the issue has been brought to the attention of people who could potentially fix it, it is just being brushed aside and treated as nothing. It's not just a couple of us with a problem, it's quite a few and the fact that regardless of it  being told to us that it "can't be fixed" it's still wrong, and I really wish the people in charge of the decision would apologize to us being affected by it, rather than just getting upset by it being brought up. While, I understand that things can't be perf...

Are you in-love with Jesus?

Did you know it’s possible to be in-love and not know it? Well let me tell you, it 100% is. You might think it’s just something in the movies and books, but no folks it’s real. If you can’t stand to be apart from the said person and when you are, it feels like years before you see them again, even if some of those times are only like 15 minutes. If you wish they were there to experience almost everything with you and are sad that they aren't and are constantly thinking to tell him/her about this or that. If you can’t go a day without thinking about them and almost every love song brings them to mind. If this person can cheer you up by just being in the room. If the only thing you want to talk about with your friends is him/her and you have to hold back half the time so you aren’t annoying. If this person is so much a part of who you are that you sometimes find yourself talking or arguing with them in your head and once you realize you are doing it you, also, realize the...

Our Influence

Hi, So I'm sure most of you have heard of Justin Bieber's arrest this morning and if not, he was arrested for drag racing, DUI, resisting arrest, and driving with an expired driver's license, and after being arrested it was found out that he had been smoking marijuana and had taken drugs. Don't worry, I'm not writing this post to bash Justin, but his poor decisions lately have had me thinking about how sad it is that he's in the lime light and could choose to be a positive influence on people and instead he's setting a bad example. It's even more sad considering he's publicly stated that he's a born-again Christian and although we all make mistakes and I'm not saying he's a completely horrible person it does make me think about the influence I'm making on those around, despite the fact that I'm not famous. He has gotten away with stuff that he shouldn't have because he's famous and I think that's wrong and probably n...

Grateful for Everything

Hi! In case you didn't already know this, the first step to being happy is to be grateful...and not just for somethings, but for everything! I'm talking about the good, the bad, the great, and the ugly! It doesn't matter what it is, you gotta be grateful for the little things in order to be happy! If you can't find something to be grateful for in every single day, no matter what, I can, almost, 100% guarantee that you'll be a pretty miserable person. I'm not always grateful for everything, but I'm speaking from experience when I say that when you find yourself complaining, turn it around to something to be thankful for and you're day will look a lot brighter and you will have a lot more energy. Negativity is a huge weight to bear and it's not worth it! When you find yourself running late for work and you feel stressed, take a second to thank God you have a job to go to...that you have money to pay your bills...thank Him for your co-workers and your...

You Are Being Loved

Hey Blog Readers! I hope you all are having a marvelous week! I don't know what you all are going through or have been through, to make you who you are, but I want you to know that you are being loved! No matter what you have done or will do, God loves you beyond anything you can imagine. You are called His precious child and He MADE you for a REASON! You are not here by chance, you were made with a purpose and He thinks you are beautiful (or handsome whatever..lol)! Too often I think we forget how truly loved we are. We let the world around us, and it's problems, tint our views of God's infinite power and view of us.  Also, we let our experiences with human love make us doubt how the Creator of the universe could even give us a second glance, let alone, love us so much He would send His One and only Son to sacrifice Himself so we could be be saved from eternal punishment in Hell. It makes sense to compare the unknown with what we know, but at the same time God can...

Let's Talk about Weddings!!

Hello All, I want to apologize to any boys reading this blog because this is more of "girly post," but feel free to read it anyways if you want to! ;P  So I have met very few girls who don't have at least some idea of what their wedding is going to be like and know a few, who seem to have every last detail planned out! I, personally, have MOST of it planned out, but really it's just ideas, I don't know how it's all going to come together, just visions of the "perfect" day! First off, I want it at the camp I work at, because that's home to me and is my favorite place on earth! I want it in June, outside on the front lawn looking over the lake, with members of my camp family, my blood family, and numerous friends gathered around to witness the coming together of me and whoever I end up falling in-love with! ;P It's going to be a hot pink, white, and black wedding, but not overwhelming amounts of hot pink, I have ideas of how to put touches...

It's All About Perspective

Hi! As I said in that last little post I have more to share! :) As the title summarizes, it's all about perspective guys...and girl!s lol I came up with this topic when my boss was telling this guy about the group this weekend being about 130ish people and the guy acted like that was a big deal, and was shocked when we acted like it wasn't...(which it isn't really) and the reason? Well in the summer we serve over 400 people, 6 days a week (we all get one day off a week) so, therefore, 130ish for 2 days is NOTHING!! I got to thinking, and really most anything, if put into perspective, can be made better. I tend to live by this myself and I can tell you first hand, that it works. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there. Maybe you are a very positive person yourself, which if so, then GREAT for you, but still, it doesn't hurt to be reminded to do so every now and then...God knows I need it! It could almost always be worse so I try hard to think of the worse...

Ahhhh....

Hello, So, I just want to announce to the world that I'm SO thankful to be home...showered, in PJ's, and sitting on my nice comfy bed! I'm blessed indeed! This was a busy, but FUN weekend! :) I have a funny story for you all. So my boss' eldest son (who is 9 and 3/4 years old...this is what he says when you ask him ;P) and I have a "love/hate" relationship; some days he likes me and other days he finds far too much joy in annoying me. haha! I really don't mind though too much because I love kids and he always cracks me up when he tries to be mean, like today at lunchtime. Two of my co-workers and I were eating our lunch and he came in and started telling us a 5 minute or so story about how he caught this squirrel by it's tail and how he wanted to keep it, but his parents wouldn't let him, etc. and after this, his mother comes in and tells them all (there are 4 of them) that it's time to go. This kid, being the sassy little thing he is, just...

Where Do You Find Your Identity?

Hello, So I'm very surprised at all the views that I've received so far, and am super excited about this! Thank you for taking the time to read what I have to say and I hope you didn't find your time wasted. Today while I was setting tables at work (yes this detail is necessary lol) I somehow got to thinking about where I...and just people in general...find my identity. Ultimately, of course it's in Christ, however, it's, also, in a sense, found in who I am and how I choose to spend my  time and how I spend my money etc. I firmly believe that my temporary identity (those things which pertain to this world rather than eternity) should reflect my eternal identity and God. I think that most people can tell that I'm saved by grace from how I act and the kind of person I am and if they don't know that that's what sets me apart, at least they can tell that I'm somehow different than the rest of this world. I'm in general a very bubbly, loud, happy, and...

Tomorrow is New

Hello Everyone, Alright, so this is my first blog post ever and I'm both excited and nervous at the same time. I'm excited because I'm finally doing something I've always thought about and wanted to do, but never done. I'm nervous because...well let's face it, by doing this I'm putting myself out there in a unique and vulnerable way. I have a Facebook, Instagram, Pintrest, and just by existing, I'm facing being rejected or loved or both, but blogging is different. It is an avenue to put my thoughts and heart out there in a way that other social media doesn't fully allow. Sure, on Facebook I can write notes or post a very lengthy status, but not a lot of people take the time to read those (don't know how many will read this either, though that's not the point), but when someone goes to someone's blog they expect longer, more thought out pieces of someone's opinions and feelings. I'm nervous because who knows what you will have to...
