Your Thoughts Are Not Your Facts

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to take a moment to remind you all of something...So Monday I had a conversation that made me feel very poorly about myself and old insecurities came flooding into my heart, mind and soul. All of which took several days of wrestling against it get past it. One thing I kept reminding myself was that my thoughts and feelings are not my facts and my truth. What other people think of me isn't always accurate and what has been done to me, doesn't define my worth.

You are child of God if you have accepted His gift of salvation and that makes you priceless. It doesn't matter what others say about you, or what you let yourself think about yourself, you are worth it, you are loved, and you have purpose! If you didn't, you wouldn't be alive to read this post. Sometimes we need to block people from our lives, but just as importantly, sometimes we have to block our insecurities and thoughts. It takes a lot of soul searching and work to break up with thoughts and feelings we've as well as married over the years, but it's never too late to retrain your thought process.

While it may take time, and a lot of searching into your closet of your past, it is so worth it and freeing! I took months several years ago (which you'll know if you've been reading this blog since the beginning or know me personally), to really dig deep into where my triggers stemmed from and it was such an awesome experience! While in the moments of crying my eyes out and feeling so broken I didn't want to go on sucked, it was worth the freedom I felt afterwards! Plus, it really helped give me the tools to get over things faster in the future because I knew where things stemmed from, or knew how to get to the bottom of my emotions later on. I'm definitely not perfect, and as I learned this week, it still can take days to get through things, however, at least it's days instead of months these days. I know that just packing things away won't do me any good in the future and it won't do you any good either. It's so hard to face things head on, sometimes, as it's human nature to want to avoid problems and just go around them, to make it easier, but that won't help you. It will be easier in the end if you go through it, so I encourage you all to do so, (whatever IT is in your case), so you can be stronger in the long run.

It is okay to be broken and to feel things, don't ever convince yourself otherwise...however, you are never too broken that you can't get through it and get back on your feet. You can overcome anything with Jesus and diligence. I hope that whatever you are facing today, that something in this post was an encouragement to you.

Until Next Time!
<3Abigail
