Know Your Worth
Hey,
First off, I want to say I'm terribly sorry I haven't blogged in a long time. I have been busy with work, and just life, and every time I would sit down to write this post I'd start and then stop. I don't know if it was just I wasn't ready to write it, even though I thought I was, or if it was just the fact that God wanted me to wait...either way, this time, I 'm determined to actually finish and post it, even if I'm not 100% satisfied with how it's written or think that I could say more, etc.
So as some of you who have read past posts of mine know, this is my year of learning to love myself, and since claiming that as my "goal" for this year, God has continually shown me ways in which to do that. One of which, is through my short relationship with someone I met this summer. Even though we recently ended things, and it was pretty hard at first, I trust God has a plan here. My ex really helped me believe that I am important, special, beautiful, and loved, and in breaking things off with him, I realize more and more that my worth isn't found in my relationship status, the opinions of others, the opinions of myself, but ONLY in the opinion of my Creator...and He died for me so I'm pretty sure His opinion of me is VERY high! At first, when my ex came into my life and showed an interest in me I thought, "hey God is 'rewarding' me because I took time to work on myself this year," but now I believe it was His way of testing me to see if I valued and knew my worth enough to step away from the relationship when I realized that he didn't truly value me as much as I thought he did. It took strength from Christ and a kick in the butt from my big sister, but I got there, and even though I miss him sometimes, I'm so grateful that I trusted His value of my life over my own.
You are worth SO much more than you think you are. You are beautiful. You are worthy. You are important. You are special. You are unique. You are wonderful. You are talented. You are irreplaceable. You are loved. The Devil will try and trick us into thinking we are worth less than we actually are because he knows that if we knew and trusted how much potential we hold that we'd be unstoppable. The same power that rose Jesus from the grave lives in us...isn't that AMAZING?! We have the Creator of this incredible universe on our side and with us at all times! He chose to go to great lengths to win us back and so no matter what guys or girls come into your life know that you are loved and cherished and He's NEVER leaving you! When you think about it, we have no cause to doubt our worth EVER, but we are human so we will, which is okay, however the important thing is to dig into His Word and open your eyes and heart to let Him daily remind you of how loved you are. Also, surround yourself with like minded people who can encourage and help fill your soul. That's not to say that you can't associate with, and learn from people who don't believe in Yeshua, but at the same time, we need to make sure we have people in our lives who get where we are coming from so we are less likely to stray from His ways.
So whenever you feel alone, know that He has made you flawless and you are worth FAR more than you can ever imagine!! We are cable of sooo much more than we allow ourselves to believe and it's about time we took a stand and didn't accept being treated any less than we are actually worth!! You may be just one person, and so am I, but if we let ourselves stand up for what we are worth we can start a ripple effect that can change much more than just you and I.
Again, I apologize this post being so long in coming, and I pray that in some small way it encourages you even though it's a little short and kind of repetitive.
Have a great weekend!
